Step 1: Create Good Work

If you don’t have existing work to show, create some practice projects to showcase your skills.

Step 2: Find the Perfect Title

• 60-70 characters
• Use power words (simple, fast, easy, perfect, huge, insane, life changing, killer, unreal, massive)
• Put time or steps to it (in 5 minutes, in 3 steps, etx.)
• Check SEO score using TubeBuddy

A few content ideas

• Review/critique/roast someone else’s site
• Talk about industry trends or changes
• Talk about common mistakes or pitfalls
• Remake an existing site (non-client)
• Talk about complimentary strategies
• Share opinion on big industry players
• See what other videos have performed well and improve and remake them
• Share controversial opinions that warrant comments

Step 3: Design a Thumbnail

• Take your time to make sure your thumbnail stands out
• Include your topic
• Show your face
• Show previews of your work/what you’ll be showing
• Include the power words, but don’t have too much text

Step 4: Write a Script

• Intro
• 10 seconds or less
• Tell them what they will see and how it will help them
• Put a time on it
• Show a sneak peak
• Meat
• The less scripted and robotic, the better
• Make it natural and show your personality
• Pitch
• Don’t over-sell
• Be brief and inviting
• Make it feel enticing
• Ending
• Link video or playlist
• Link to your website

Step 5: Film

• Your first videos will be bad, but they will get better
• Buckle down, and get it done

Step 6: Optimize and Post

Don’t just use these videos once

Step 8: Subscribe and Engage

• Leave 5 comments a day
• Like a few videos daily
