Intro to Connor
- From New Zealand, currently living in Ontario, CA
- Started Unicorn Factory, a freelancer platform in New Zealand and Canada
- Used Webflow to develop Unicorn Factory and fell in love with no-code
- Spoke at Webflow conference a few years ago and started YouTube camera to show tutorials on no-code tools
What No Code Tools Are
- Software that allows you to create websites, app, automations, etc. without code
- Before no code, designers had to design everything out in Sketch, Figma, etc. and then hand it over to a developer
- Takes the concept of coding and makes a visual abstraction so you can create workflows and apps without Webflow
- Examples:
- Webflow, Zapier, Whalesync, Make, Airtable, Memberstack, MailerLite, Stripe
Use Case 1: Upsell Web Design Clients
- Add membership/gated content functionality to your website using a tool like Memberstack (using data attributes in Webflow) - can charge anything from $4-$8k for creation of Memberstack integrations in Webflow
- Create a CMS admin portal that syncs with Airtable using Whalesync
- Whalesync allows you to connect separate database for custom integrations
- E.g. sync airtable to Webflow CMS using Whalesync, airtable interface is a bit nicer than Webflow CMS interface, better for clients
- Automate form submissions logic with make.com
- Automtae form submissions from Webflow to CRM using make.com
Use Case 2: Automate Your Own Business
- Build a client management portal with Glide
- With Glide, you can take Google sheets data and turn it into a nice dashboard
- Can make an engaging client portal for your clients, levels up the experience
- Manage client payments using Stripe payment links
- Can do subscription payments, etc.
Use Case 3: Build Your Platforms
- The best way to learn about no-code and automate is to get in there and start building!
- Build your own e-learning platform with Webflow and Memberstack
- Create a curated product directory with Webflow, Airtable and Make
- Build a two-sided marketplace with Glide and Webflow
Key takeaway: once you have your web design and development skills down, you are most of the way there in terms of creating a profitable automated product! No-code tools are fairly easy to pick up and can be used to create some pretty powerful tools fairly quickly!
